FAQ's
When is the best time to bring kids that are just beginning to skate?
Saturday and Sunday afternoon is our family skate and is the best time to bring beginners. The music and atmosphere is appropriate for families and younger children. The pace is slower and the staff is able to assist with beginners.
What kind of music do you play on Friday and Saturday nights? How old are the kids that skate?
The evening sessions are geared towards the pre-teen and teenager. We play the music on U93 (pop and rap music). The ages vary, but generally from 10 to 15 years old is our typically crowd.
Is my child old enough to skate on Friday and Saturday night?
Age is only one thing to consider, their actual skill level is also important. The evening public sessions have experience skaters, and the pace is faster.
I have scheduled a two hour party on Saturday when can I get in to set-up?
The rink is made available to the host 10 minutes before scheduled party.
Can I get my deposit back, if I have to cancel my party?
The deposits are nonrefundable.
Can I just bring in a birthday cake during a public skate session to celebrate my child’s birthday?
If you would like to bring in a cake, you have to schedule a party during our Saturday public skate from 2 to 5.
Can I bring in my own music and will you play it?
We do not accept any music during our public sessions. If you rent the rink out privately, then you can bring in your own CDs.
Can I bring in my own in-line skates?
You may bring in your own in-line skates as long as they are clean and in good repair, no nuts or bolts protruding from the side of the skate and they have a working heel stop.
I have a birthday party scheduled during your public skate on Saturday, what do I need to bring?
This package is set-up to be easy. You bring the cake and candles; we take care of the rest. It is helpful, but not necessary to provide us with a list of the guests that are expected to attend. This eliminates any confusion about who is an invited guest and should be included on your final bill.
If I am not skating, just there to watch my children skate, do I have to pay a fee?
There is never a spectator fee for adults. Kids under 18 are expected to skate and pay a fee unless they are accompanied by an adult.
Do you accept checks?
We only accept credit cards, debt cards and cash.
I would like to purchase some skates, do you have a lay-away plan
When purchasing skates 50% is required down. The remainder of the balance is due when you pick-up your skates.
Do you provide skate lessons?
We have classes’ through-out the year on Sundays. Contact the skate center for the next available class.
What is a late skate?
A late skate is when we extend our public skate session on Friday nights to12am. Kids skate from 7pm to 12am. Our late skates are generally scheduled on the last Friday of the month.
Do you have different hours in the summer time?
The rink is closed on Sundays during the months of June, July & August?
Quad or Inline Skates?
The inline skates are great for hockey, one can change direction quickly and they are faster then quad skates. Inline are great for outside on uneven ground, sidewalks or bike trails, they roll over small pebbles or bumps in the road with less risk.
The quad skate is much safer for indoor skating. The quad after a little bit of practice provides better control around curves and requires less effort and force to skate and more importantly to STOP. Your feet and legs will also not tire as fast.
